Arif Bagdadi, a mango farm owner from Devgad in Sindhudurg district,, blamed the harsh weather for lack of production."It was extremely hot and cold during February. This didn’t help us in any way. The extreme weather affected the flowers and all of them fell. This is the reason why the produce has reduced," said Mr Bagdadi.According to Mr Bagdadi, the production fell by 75 per cent compared to what it was last year and hence the prices have gone up too.

　　Munaf Thakur, a farm owner from Vijaydurga area, from where mangoes are exported all over the world, said, "The prices at which one dozen mangoes are being sold in the wholesale market is Rs 600. Lastyear, the same mangoes were sold at Rs 400 per dozen. This is because the mango production is low." Explaining the reason behind the low production, Mr Thakur claimed that the mango flowers did not bloom because of harsh weather."Only those who used heavy pesticides could maintain the first three seasons of the flower. For people like us who do not use much pesticides and chemicals, we could yield only from the last flowering season and hence, the production this year has gone down," said Mr Thakur.

　　New Delhi: Inflation based on the wholesale price index slipped to 5.70 per cent in March as manufactured goods showed cost decline even as food prices hardened. The WPI inflation, reflecting the annual rate of price rise, in February was 6.55 per cent. In March 2016, the print came in at (-)0.45 per cent.According to official data released today, food prices saw a sharp rise of 3.12 per cent in March compared to 2.69 per cent in the previous month.This is primarily because of a steep price jump in vegetables where inflation stood at 5.70 per cent. As for fruits, the figure was also high at 7.62 per cent, while for egg, meat and fish, it was 3.12 per cent.Fuel inflation declined to 18.16 per cent, from 21.02 per cent in February. The manufactured items witnessed some softening in price rise, with inflation at 2.99 per cent in March, as against 3.66 per cent in the previous month.

It raised FDI in news and current affairs TV channels to 49 per cent (requiring govement approval) from the present cap of 26 per cent. As for the uplinking of non-news and current affairs TV channels, 100 per cent FDI has been now permitted under the automatic route.

A foreign investor will now be permitted to exit and repatriate foreign investment before completion of project under the automatic route, provided that a lock-in-period of three years, calculated with reference to each tranche of foreign investment, has been completed. Further, transfer of stake from one non-resident to another non-resident, without repatriation of investment, will neither be subject to any lock-in period nor to any govement approval. The condition of lock-in-period would not apply to hotels and tourist resorts, hospitals, special economic zones (SEZs), educational institutions, old age homes and investment by NRIs. The govement has removed the sub-limit restrictions within the overall limit of 74 per cent for private sector banks to provide greater flexibility to banks and investors.

　　New Delhi: The Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) will provide moing tea and rusks in all night shelters during winter months, beginning Saturday.The health department has constituted teams of doctors and paramedical staff to inspect the shelters twice a week.The DUSIB is mandated to provide shelter to the homeless population of Delhi. Presently, the agency is running 251 shelters through NGOs on a contract basic with a capacity of 19,499.During the previous winter (2016-17), the maximum occupancy at the night shelters was around 12,000.This winter, tents have been pitched up at the locations that have a concentration of homeless population. During night time, 20 rescue teams would ply different locations to shift the homeless people sleeping on the road side/footpath supported by 24x7 control room and Rain Basera app.While entry into the shelters is free of cost during the winter months, the homeless people are charged `10 each per day for entry into the China Wholesale Tents Manufactures shelters.Three-tier inspection teams have been formed for the upkeep of night shelters.As many as 55 tents have been erected as temporary shelter for winter season and the health department has formed teams of doctors and premedical staff to inspect the inhabitants of the shelter twice a week.

We have the support of our Nagar Councillor and the public."One of the occupants informed that they have been residing in tents, which provide little relief from the cold, since December 15 when the demolition took place. 　　New Delhi: Wholesale price-based inflation was unchanged at 1.08 per cent in August even as prices of food items rose, govement data showed on Monday.The wholesale price index (WPI)-based inflation was at 1.08 per cent in July this year and 4.62 per cent in August 2018. Inflation in food articles rose to 7.67 per cent in August from 6.15 per cent in July this year mainly on account of rise in prices of vegetables and protein-rich items.Vegetable inflation too rose to 13.07 per cent in the month under Foldable Gazebos for sale review as against 10.67 per cent in July 2019. Inflation in protein-rich items like egg, meat and fish rose to 6.60 per cent last month from 3.16 per cent in July.
